Visceral Manipulation Therapy
Common dis-ease with visceral backup may include: fibroids and cysts, endometriosis, infertility, dyspareunia, dysmenorrhea, Pelvic floor disorders, prostatitis, bladder problems, urinary and sexual dysfunction (erectile dysfunction, testicular pain), acid reflux, joint pain, depression, sciatica, fibromyalgia, GERD, anxiety and irritable bowel syndrome to name a few.
In a sedentary society, this therapy is often limited in availability and underserved to the public because of a lack of knowledge and health education. A new sense of freedom is felt when patients receive a visceral release and many times it can feel life changing to those suffering. Ask Dr. Kousouli about visceral manipulation and if it is a helpful treatment option for you, on your next visit in.
Visceral Manipulation Therapy takes into account the viscera, the body’s organs (ex. bowels, bladder or uterus) as they relate to the function of the whole body (muscle, skeletal, nervous systems, joints, the fascia, etc.). VM is a gentle hands-on therapy which opens restrictions the body accumulates over times from infections, adhesions, accidents, scars, poor posture. The organs have a natural placing within the body and gliding movement that if restricted, may stagnate the energy and function of that organ leading to dis-ease.
With time our body does work around the restricted organ, but the accumulation of limitation is chokes off vital life force. Eventually, we work at a lesser capacity and don’t even know we’re stressed inside. This appears as irritation, inflammation, lower alkalinity, neural, musculoskeletal fatigue.
